Arkansas Run for the Fallen
On March 17-19, 2023, in a reflection of remembrance, a team of runners will embark on a 155 mile run to honor Arkansas service members who have died while serving on active duty since September 11, 2001. The run begins in Ozark, Arkansas and ends in Little Rock, Arkansas. Each mile of the run is dedicated to an Arkansas Hero. The run team stops at each marker where they present an American Flag and a biographical card in honor of a fallen service member who has died while serving since 9/11/2001 in an effort to create a 155 mile memorial trail through Arkansas.
These are the expected times for Altus and some of Johnson County for Friday, March 17. The runners LOVE to hear the support while running their mile.

Kindergarten
Registration
Next year’s kindergarten registration for Westside Elementary School will be held online. Please go to the Johnson Co. Westside website @ westsiderebels.net to complete and submit the form. You will find the kindergarten registration under the Elementary School section. It is important that students be registered before May 12 so they can be scheduled for a screening the week of May 15. Your child must be (5) on or before August 1, 2023 to be eligible to enroll and must also live in the Westside School District or have a school choice application on file, dated by May 1, 2023. The following information will be required to complete registration when your child comes for his/her kindergarten screening.
1. Official birth certificate
2. Up to date shot records
3. Current kindergarten physical
4. Social Security Card
5. Medicaid card, if applicable
6. Completed registration paperwork that will be given to you at screening.
Screenings will be held May 16-18. You will be contacted by a staff member with a date and time. If you are unable to register your child online or have any questions please call Westside Elementary at 479-497-1088.
Bus Update 3/8/23 - The Whale Bus riders will be held back this afternoon and the Squirrel Bus will return to pick them up and take them home. The Whale Bus won't be in the line up.

- Thursday ONLY the butterfly bus will be held over in the afternoon, the squirrel bus will return to pick those students up and take them home. Students will be home a little later than usual.
