Kindergarten
Registration
Next year’s kindergarten registration for Westside Elementary School will be held online. Please go to the Johnson Co. Westside website @ westsiderebels.net to complete and submit the form. You will find the kindergarten registration under the Elementary School section. It is important that students be registered before May 12 so they can be scheduled for a screening the week of May 15. Your child must be (5) on or before August 1, 2023 to be eligible to enroll and must also live in the Westside School District or have a school choice application on file, dated by May 1, 2023. The following information will be required to complete registration when your child comes for his/her kindergarten screening.
1. Official birth certificate
2. Up to date shot records
3. Current kindergarten physical
4. Social Security Card
5. Medicaid card, if applicable
6. Completed registration paperwork that will be given to you at screening.
Screenings will be held May 16-18. You will be contacted by a staff member with a date and time. If you are unable to register your child online or have any questions please call Westside Elementary at 479-497-1088.
Bus Update 3/8/23 - The Whale Bus riders will be held back this afternoon and the Squirrel Bus will return to pick them up and take them home. The Whale Bus won't be in the line up.

The Westside Prom 2023 is set for Saturday, April 22nd, in the Westside High School Cafeteria. Pictures will begin at 5:00 PM and Prom will be from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Congratulations to Rachel Claire Dotson, Zane Smith, Mackenzie Cato, Katie West, Kelsey Doss, Hunter Cowell, Destiny Stricklin, Lorelai Brice, and Averi Jackson for passing their Microsoft Office Specialist - PowerPoint exam. We are still wrapping up the PowerPoint section of our Survey of Business class and more student will be taking their PowerPoint exam this week. Next we will be moving on to Excel, Mrs. Bartmier's favorite MOS program! Way to go!

The 22-23 basketball season has officially ended with a tough loss to an aggressive Marshall team in the state tournament. We are incredibly proud of all our basketball teams and we are looking forward to next season.

Attention Parents/Guardians, we have some bus route adjustments this week. Please read the following carefully so that you know how your child might be affected.
- Wednesday & Thursday, March 1st and 2nd the Cat Bus will be combined with the Whale Bus in the afternoon. Students will be home a little later than usual.
- Thursday ONLY the butterfly bus will be held over in the afternoon, the squirrel bus will return to pick those students up and take them home. Students will be home a little later than usual.

"We aren’t done yet!
The Westside High School boys won a total of 3 games during the 2021-2022 season. Finished last in the conference and never made it out of the district tournament.
During the off-season, we knew this group had the potential to be dangerous if they put the work in. Well, they put the work in. All they have done is exceed expectations. SO FAR, because we aren’t done yet, they have won 23 games (a new program record), they tied for second in conference (3rd seed in district because of points), they were District Tournament Runners Up, made it to Regionals, and tonight were Regional Tournament Runners Up to a really good Lavaca team. The Regional Runner Up trophy is also a first for our program AND WE AREN'T DONE! These young men get to go to the state tournament next week (also for the first time in program history).
I could not be more proud of these young men. My cup runneth over!
Thank you to all of the fans, administration, students, teachers, parents, and community members for your continued support! We have been blown away by the number of people that have shown up to watch and cheer us on.
