Cheer tryouts begin tomorrow (4/20/23) at 6pm at the high school gym. Girls if you have not turned in your physical or your signed tryout agreement you must have both with you in order to participate in the tryout. If you have questions stop by Mrs. Bartmier's room. If you are a current student at Westside and interested in participating in cheer for the 23-24 school you must participate in the tryout.

Recently our Jr High track team traveled to Waldron for the Jr. Bulldog Relays. Zane Smith came away with the High Point Individual award with a total of 43 points.
Zane placed in the following events:
-1st in 110 m Hurdles
-1st in 300 m Hurdles
-1st in 400 m Dash
-2nd in High Jump
-4th in 800 m Run

Graduating seniors who will be going to work after graduation are invited to a Job Fair on April 10, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Cyclone Arena in Russellville. The QR code on the attached flyer go to a google document- registration form. The registration forms will be shared with the employers at the Job Fair. Pre-registration is not required, but recommended. The Job Fair is also open to the public.
Graduating seniors who accept a local job will be invited to Workforce Signing Day on May 5 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Center for the Arts, next to Russellville High School. Please share this information with your teachers, staff, graduates, and parents. If you have any questions, or I can be of service, please let me know.

JC Westside Senior Beta will be hosting a fundraiser Saturday, April 1 at Atwood's in Clarksville from 10am-2pm. They will have 2 hot dogs and a water for $1, chips for $0.50 a bag, and homemade treats for $0.50-$1.00. All funds raised will help Senior Beta members travel to Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky this summer!

Some of our Seniors attended Draft Day, hosted by Be Pro Be Proud, today with Ms. Hays, our Career Coach. We are so proud of them because it took a lot of work to get there!
In order to attend they had to complete:
90 minute YouScience Assessment
4 hour Resume and Mock Interview workshop
Bring a Resume
They then got to sit down and interview for jobs with high-wage employers in the River Valley. Students were able to make connections with businesses and could be called in for second interviews with employers!
