Congratulations Naomi Jennings! She placed 7th over all nationally in the Middle Level FBLA Leadership competition! Naomi began this process nearly a year ago! She has spent hours studying and preparing for each competition at the district, state, and national level. Naomi also spent hours fundraising in order to make her way to Chicago for the national competition. The hard work paid off! “I couldn’t be more proud to be Naomi’s FBLA Advisor. She has put in the time and effort to prove she is a determined young woman. I look forward to seeing where her work ethic and determination take her in the future.” - Mrs. Bartmier

Spring report cards for students 6-12 are available for pick up at the high school office May 31 - June 2 between 8am and 2pm.

Today was the Regional West Senior 2022 Tournament at the AGFF/Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex. There were 126 squads consisting of 542 individual shooters. Westside came up short on qualifying for the State Tournament but it was a lot of fun this season. I want to recognize senior Sladen Sisk who hit 45 out of 50 today. He has been involved with trap since we started the program. Good luck to him in his future endeavors.

The West Regional Junior 2022 Trap Tournament was held today, May 6th, at the AGFF/Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex. The junior division is made up of students who are in the 6th - 8th grade. There were 81 squads made up of 348 individual shooters who competed. Johnson County Westside Junior Squad # 1, consisting of Baylor Payne, Kaeden Bartmier, Preston Pelts, Hudson Bartmier, and Jalen Floyd, came in 12th place, which qualified the squad to attend the state tournament. The top 16 teams from each region are invited to the state tournament which will be held June 3rd in Jacksonville. Since starting the trap program in 2018, this is the first squad from Westside to qualify for the state tournament. The trap team is coached by Gerald Haltom and Nathan Griffith.

Attention Westside fans, the softball regional has been pushed to begin Friday. Our Lady Rebels will take on the Cotter Lady Warriors on Friday, May 6th at 3pm. Mansfield High School is hosting the regional tournament. Come on out and cheer our Lady Rebels on to the state tournament! Mrs. Hurt's Food, Safety, & Nutrition made Edible Books. This was the last cooking assignment for seniors. They all did great and had a wonderful time making them.

The 2A-4 District Baseball & Softball tournaments begin this week. They are both hosted by Magazine High School. Best of luck to our Rebels and Lady Rebels as they compete for a spot at Regionals next week.
