ABC Student of the Month: Abbigail Mooney

On April 5th at 6:00 p.m. Westside High School is having an informational night about next year's (2022-2023) class scheduling. Everyone is welcome to come learn more about class electives, graduation requirements, and how to request classes for next year. See you Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.

Attention JC Westside Middle and High School families, beginning Monday 2/21/22 we are asking all students to have a book with them to read if they should complete an assignment early and have time to read at the end of class. Our Middle Level and Senior Level FBLA students had a successful District 1 Spring Conference! We had a total of 19 competitors and came away with 4 first place and 10 others that placed in the top 6 of their competition! So proud of all our students and looking forward to competing at State in Little Rock on April 4-5. Middle Level Competitors Noah Osornio - 1st place in Exploring Technology Braxtyn Martin -1st place in Interpersonal Communication Naomi Jennings - 1st place in Leadership Ayla Highfill - 2nd place in Exploring Economics Ashtyn Smith - 2nd place in Learning Strategies Mackenzie Cato - 2nd place in Running an Effective Meeting Morgan Yarbrough - 3rd place in FBLA Concepts Katie West - 4th place in Digital Citizenship Johnna Sunday - 6th place in Career Exploration Also competing was Kaeden Bartmier, Jalen Floyd, Zane Smith, and Lily Vaught. Emerson Morgan will be competing in a state only event. Senior Level Competitors Logan Sanders - 1st place in Introduction to Business Procedures Olan Sanders - 3rd place in Advertising Ava Bartmier - 4th place in Business Communications Zoi Figley - 6th place in Introduction to Financial Math Also competing was Justin Haltom and attending as delegate was Tori Nowotony. Tonight’s games at Mansfield have been cancelled. We will make up the junior girls and junior boys games from tonight on Tuesday when the senior high travels to Mansfield. Seventh grade games will not be made up at this time. Tuesday the junior girls will tip off at Mansfield at 4:30, followed by junior boys, senior girls, and senior boys.

The senior girls game at Acorn tonight has been cancelled due to inclement weather concerns. Makeup time will be posted as soon as we have a date.

Junior boys game has been postponed tonight. We will reschedule (if possible) when the opponent can play and it fits our schedule. Senior boys will tip off at 5:30 tonight.

For the safety of our students and fans and to help us do all that we can to try to finish out our season, we HIGHLY recommend and ask everyone to follow the following procedures. •Wear your mask properly when inside the facilities. •Sit in your family unit and socially distanced from other family units. •Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer frequently. •Stay home if you feel ill or show any symptoms. *Student section will be required to have a mask on properly at all times. Hard to believe it, but here we are, saying farewell to 2021 and ringing in 2022! We are so thankful to each student, parent, staff member, and community member that supported our Westside Rebels throughout 2021. We could not do it without all of you! We are looking forward to what 2022 will bring and all the memories that will be made. Wishing you all a Happy New Year!!
