Hello Musicians and Parents! Tonight is the first Music Parent Meeting of the year. We've got a lot to unpack, so please make sure someone in your household is able to attend to learn more about Band, Choir, and how YOU can support us. We've also got a LOT of musicians that would like to join us outside of these classes. PLEASE come by tonight and learn how we can get you involved again! Yearbooks will be available during Open House this Thursday, 8/10 from 5:00 - 7:00pm. Mr. Mayes will have the yearbooks for 6th - 12th, and Mrs. Ross will have those for PK - 5th. If you did not order a yearbook, there will be extra available for $48.

Letters were mailed out to parents from the school yesterday that contained a 2023-24 School Calendar. Please disregard the August block of the calendar. Somehow the dates 1-4 are repeated for August and have thrown the calendar off. Open House is Thursday, August 10th and the first day of school is Monday, August 14. We apologize for any confusion. If you would like a corrected calendar, these are available at the high school office.

Anyone interested in joining cross country can email Coach Busch at kbusch@westsiderebels.net or join us June 19th (Monday) at 7:30 am at the gym.

Come join us for an ice cream social and parent meeting on Thursday, June 8th, at 6:00 p.m. to meet the new boys basketball coach, Logan Wilbanks. We will also have our heat illness and concussion protocol meeting, as well as help you sign your athlete up for Dragonfly.

It's was a high flying adventure today for seniors as they spent their senior trip day in Branson, MO. Everyone had a great time. In less than 48 hours these students will become graduates! Thank you Mr. Freeman for driving the bus, Ms. Lovell for keeping up with the paperwork since these guys were 7th graders, Mrs. Hurt, and Mrs. Bartmier for going along as sponsors.

Our Awards Assembly and Signing Day will be May 17th from 9am-10:30am at the high school. During the Signing portion of the event, Seniors will be able to make a commitment to their college or career decision by signing a certificate. Parents or Caregivers are invited to stand with their students while they sign! Seniors, it is not too late to sign up to be a part of this event. The West Regional Junior Trap Tournament was held today and Westside Team # 1 placed 12th out of 79 squads. Westside Team #1 consists of members Preston Pelts, Baylor Payne, Hudson Bartmier, Devin Carpenter, and Jalen Floyd. There were 355 individual shooters registered for today. The top 16 squads, or teams, qualify for the State Tournament to be held June 2nd. I ran across this article and want to share it. We are hosting another Music Meeting Night for our parents, guardians, students, and community to join us in learning more about how YOU can help support our talented students. Cheer tryouts begin tomorrow (4/20/23) at 6pm at the high school gym. Girls if you have not turned in your physical or your signed tryout agreement you must have both with you in order to participate in the tryout. If you have questions stop by Mrs. Bartmier's room. Westside Jr. Rebels competed in the Quitman Relays, we had the Individual High Point in both the boys and girls, congratulations Olivia Pelfrey and Zane Smith.
